A summer to remember

The second edition of our most anticipated summer camp is here! This year, our theme will be “Yoga & Art.” We want children aged 4 to 12 to explore their creativity, connect with nature, and discover their inner self through yoga and art, embracing presence and awareness.

Our Yoga & Art Program

Children will explore through:

  • Conscious Movements: We will learn age-appropriate yoga postures, but we will focus on a dynamic yoga method, Yantra Yoga for children or Kumar Kumari; where sequences of movements coordinated with breath will help us work on coordination, memory, and concentration, all while having fun!

  • Breath Awareness: Breath is a central aspect of yoga practice; it plays a bridge role in the connection between mind and body. In Kumar Kumari, we use sound to guide the breath and thus bring it to a more tangible level.

  • Relaxation and Mindfulness: Classes include relaxation and mindfulness exercises. Being here and now with kindness and curiosity will help them increase attention in everything they do. But all this doesn’t just stay in “the class”; it’s something we cultivate moment by moment in our rhythms of expansion and contraction.

  • Art Workshops: Children will participate in drawing, painting, ceramics, and techniques inspired by the beauty of the surrounding nature, using natural and sustainable materials. Fun in Nature: We will have collaborative games, storytelling, and an enriching exploration of the natural environment, making every day fun and exciting.

Our Camp’s Home: Dzamling Gar

All of this takes place in the wonderful space of Dzamling Gar, in Playa Paraíso, a safe and enriching place where beauty is cherished. The beautiful gardens and wonderful rooms invite calm and exploration, offering many options for the little ones to nourish themselves and create wonderful memories and bonds during their summer. It’s a place where you can feel the freshness and serenity in the air.

A Bilingual Camp

Some activities will be in Spanish and others in English, fostering natural and fun language learning.

TESTIMONIES

One highlight was Nataly’s morning yoga classes. The impact they had on the children, especially the older ones, was clear. While a few occasionally resisted at the idea of going to the class, not a single one wanted to end the class when it was time. They relished the post-exercise relaxation, that blissful state of calm that we all cherish when it graces us.

I must also commend the older children for their remarkable exhibition on the final day. They had been diligently working with Nataly throughout the month on the tale of “Nyima, Dawa, and the little Yak”. (a charming tale written by Laura Evangelisti & The Kumar Kumari Yantra Yoga Team) Through this beautiful story, they engaged in exercises that synchronized breath with movement. From my perspective, it was a powerful display of their capabilities. Witnessing their animated storytelling, with so much skill and coordination, was a genuine gift.

This is an experience I wholeheartedly endorse and eagerly anticipate repeating. I encourage everyone to partake in such a journey.”

Silvia, guest teacher in Yoga Kids Summer Camp 2023.

Yoga Kids was a rich experience for my daughter. Every day she came home telling me how much she had learned and enjoyed, both the yoga and the art, and especially the place. Pure harmony!

Gisela

My daughter Elise attended the summer camp in 2023, and honestly, it was a true blessing for us.

It was right near our home, which made everything super convenient. The area was gated, peaceful, and incredibly green — full of trees and nature. I haven’t seen any other kindergarten or camp with such a beautiful green space. The kids did yoga, played together, and learned from one another — since they were of different ages — and I absolutely loved that. There was such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The teacher was amazing: kind, loving, and understanding. Elise was also very happy because some of her close friends were there too. It was truly a beautiful experience for her, and for me as a mom.

She learned new things and got really good at yoga, which means a lot to me — I really want her to grow up with things that are good for her body and spirit.

They also had a lovely arts program: painting, crafts, creative projects — always surrounded by a positive, encouraging energy.

For me, it was an ideal summer: no stressful driving, no gas to spend, everything nearby. I’d pack her lunch, drop her off peacefully, and when she came back home, she was happy and not exhausted.

All of this inside a beautiful cultural center, full of greenery and awareness. Even the children there seemed kind and mindful. It truly felt like a special place — we loved it, and we’ll definitely join again this year.
