Gönpa Hall Acoustic Treatment

Gönpa Hall Acoustic Treatment Project by Namkhai Yeshi
In summer 2024 we began an important project with Namkhai Yeshi to improve the sound quality in our Gönpa Hall.
Following a detailed acoustic assessment, Namkhai Yeshi prepared a comprehensive Acoustic Treatment Study, identifying current challenges and offering practical solutions.
We are now moving forward with the recommendations from His study, which include installing sound-absorbing elements in different areas of the Gönpa and acquiring recommended sound equipment.
Our goal is to complete the project before Namkhai Yeshi’s upcoming retreat in February 2026 (more information coming soon).
The project’s estimated budget is €43,000.
We warmly invite you to support this important project by making a donation.

Acoustics update mid November 2025

Our team has just completed the mobile wall structures — the very first advice Namkhai Yeshi gave us after his first teaching session in February 2025. At that time, we constructed a provisional mobile wall to block sound reflection in just a few hours before the afternoon session.
Now, we have created proper structures that will later be covered with acoustic material. These two mobile walls will become a permanent part of the acoustic setup and will be used either at the far side of the Gonpa during larger events or to section off part of the Gonpa during smaller gatherings.

The acoustic materials have also just arrived and will be applied to the corners and walls of the Gonpa.

In addition, we are preparing the curtains, which will play a vital role in further improving the acoustics.

More updates soon!
We are very grateful to everyone who has already donated and hope that more of you will consider supporting this project financially to help us complete it before the upcoming retreat.
