A four-session course to set the base for learning the Tibetan Dharma Language and to exert yourself in reading, writing, and understanding the texts of the Tibetan tradition.
Participation to the course (and the assimilation of its contents) will enable students to participate in the beginners´ translation course held every year onsite at Merigar (Italy), and online.
Session I (22 – 24 Nov)
- Online & Onsite from Merigar (Italy)
- A general introduction to the structure, history, sacredness and place of the classical Tibetan language
- The alphabet
- All the basic rules of reading and writing
Session II (21 – 23 Dec)
- Online & Onsite from Merigar (Italy)
- All about Tibetan syllables
Session III (24 – 26 Jan)
- Online & Onsite from Dzamling Gar (Tenerife)
- Short analysis of Tibetan words; Guided reading of some well known texts with presentation of meanings and main grammatical aspects
Session IV (20 – 22 March)
- Online & Onsite from Merigar (Italy)
- Continuation of the previous Session
