Yantra Yoga Teacher Training Level 2, April 14–23, 2025 at Dzamling Gar
The first second-level Yantra Yoga Teacher Training in years has just concluded at Dzamling Gar, marking a vibrant renewal of practice and connection.
As I write on my way home to Naples—the city where Yantra Yoga first flourished in the West through the tireless guidance of our Master, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu—I feel deeply moved. Since those early days in the 1970s, Yantra Yoga has remained a vital gateway to the Teachings, offering balance and clarity in an age of stress and distraction.
Ten intense days of practice with senior teachers Laura Evangelisti and Fabio Andrico, along with thirty-seven teachers of all levels, reignited that living energy. Returning to Dzamling Gar after many years, I was touched by its beauty, the songs of birds, and the presence of Rinpoche that still seems to infuse the place. Practicing in the completed Gönpa felt like an empowerment in itself.
The training allowed us to refine details of the practice through open dialogue and shared experience. Third-level teachers Oni MacKinstry, Jan Dolensky, and Maxim Leshchenko contributed immensely, while second-level teachers Nataly Nitsche and Carolina Mingolla offered guidance and support. Congratulations to Fulvio Grosso and Leticia Recepter on receiving their long-awaited second-level diplomas, and appreciation to Sean Read for his infectious enthusiasm.
A special space was also dedicated to discussions on the future of Yantra Yoga and the structure of trainings and supervisions, with Naomi Zeitz and Alessandra Policreti joining the dialogue. Deep gratitude goes to Fabio and Laura, whose thirty years of tireless work have ensured the faithful transmission of this extraordinary practice, and to the Dzamling Gar Gakyil for organizing the event.
This training strengthened our sense of unity and inspired us to continue practicing and teaching with devotion, supporting both individual and collective growth. With heartfelt thanks to Namkhai Yeshi Rinpoche, may the blessings of Yantra Yoga continue to bring benefit to many.
With love and deep joy,
Fabiana Esca

A Journey Through Sound with Alexandr Vlasenko
After a memorable evening of resonance and calm on April 27th, sound healer Alexandr Vlasenko returned to Dzamling Gar for another immersive journey through vibration and stillness. On May 3rd, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, participants were invited to step into a space of deep relaxation, gentle presence, and harmonious sound.
Sound Healing is an ancient practice rooted in the understanding that every tone carries the potential to restore balance. Through the pure resonance of singing bowls, gongs, and subtle layers of voice, Alexandr creates a sonic landscape that invites the mind to quiet and the body to release. The experience unfolds like a meditation in motion — a meeting point between sound and silence, presence and surrender.
Set within the tranquil surroundings of Dzamling Gar, the evening offered more than a performance; it was a shared moment of stillness and connection. Each tone seemed to echo a reminder of our natural harmony, inviting us to listen not only with our ears, but with the heart.

YOGA KIDS SUMMER CAMP 2025: Yoga & Art – Our Garden
By Cristina Conticelli and Nataly Nitsche
From late June through August, Dzamling Gar once again came alive with laughter during the second Yoga Kids Camp, themed “Yoga & Art.” Twenty-one children aged 4–10 joined, including many newcomers, for a joyful blend of yoga, creativity, and nature.
Each morning began with playtime and Kumar Kumari Yoga classes, helping kids connect with their bodies, breath, and minds while strengthening focus and coordination. The camp was bilingual (Spanish and English), with Italian and Russian voices adding to the mix.
The gardens of Dzamling Gar became our outdoor classroom—counting flowers, playing games, and resting in the shade. Yoga and art intertwined naturally, each nurturing awareness, imagination, and joy. Inspired by the landscape, children created with local treasures—turning flamboyant fruits into maracas and black tulip pods into colorful boats.
Our creative home, the Casita Amarilla, was a cozy haven filled with materials for painting, building, and dreaming. There, the children cultivated their own inner garden—a place of calm, color, and connection.
This summer at Dzamling Gar was truly magical: a time of movement, art, and discovery where peace grew from every breath. We hope these seeds of presence and joy continue to bloom, in every child and in many future camps to come.

Yoga Day — A Heartfelt Gathering of Practices and Community
By Andrei Vasilev
On June 21, we came together to celebrate Yoga Day with a rich program of practices, inspiration, and human connection. Around 60 people joined us – 90% of which were new people — filling the space with warmth, curiosity, and openness.
The event opened with a welcoming introduction, followed by several sessions presenting different aspects of yoga.
Among them, Alessandra and I presented Yantra Yoga, an ancient Tibetan system that integrates movement, breath, and awareness. Due to time limitations, we shared just a few essential elements:
– the 9 Purification Breaths,
– the first and second exercises of Tsigjong,
– the first movement of Lungsang,
– the first movement of Tsandul,
– and we concluded with 7 deep breaths and relaxation in Nyalwap.
Throughout the session, Carlos kindly translated everything into Spanish, making the practice accessible to all.
After our presentation, we felt the atmosphere was filled with attention, interest, and warm engagement. The participants responded with heartfelt applause — a touching sign that the transmission was received openly and with gratitude.
The day continued with other yoga practices, sharings, a simple raffle, and a vegetarian lunch that gave everyone a chance to connect informally and enjoy the community spirit.
There’s always room to grow, but what stood out most was the shared intention and connection.
We look forward to co-creating an even more enriching Yoga Day in the future!

Yantra Yoga at the Adeje Summer University
by Nataly Nitsche
Maxim Leshchenko, a Level 3 Yantra Yoga instructor, took part in the Physical Activity, Health, and Well-being course at the Adeje Summer University, held July 21–23, 2025.
The Adeje Summer University, organized annually by the University of La Laguna (ULL) in southern Tenerife, is one of Spain’s leading summer programs. This year’s edition, UVA 2025, focused on multiculturalism and well-being as a shared human value.
The course featured leading health experts such as Boticaria García, Javier Butrageño, Mario Redondo, and Patry Jordán, who shared insights on physical activity and wellness. Maxim Leshchenko contributed a practical Yantra Yoga workshop, introducing participants to its holistic benefits.
The course was among the most popular at UVA 2025, reflecting growing interest in integrated approaches to health. The Atiyoga Foundation thanks the Adeje City Council, the University of La Laguna, and the Tenerife Island Council for their excellent organization and invitation.

Open Day Dzamling Gar September 20, 2025
The DzamlingGar Open Day was a resounding success, attracting over 100 attendees, all newcomers from outside the cultural association.
The event featured engaging sessions of Yantra Yoga led by Maxim Leschenko and Natalie Nitsche, as well as a highly appreciated Atimon Lan practice. Participants also enjoyed the Vajra Dance session of 12 A’s, which kept everyone engaged and even led to extended the time. The day concluded with a joyful lunch and more dancing, including salsa, fostering a spirit of fun and community.
This Open Day was a wonderful opportunity to welcome external visitors and showcase the association’s practices. Notably, the collaboration with an influencer from outside the community played a key role in drawing such a large crowd, suggesting that this format could definitely be repeated in the future.

Dzamlinggar Qi Gong Retreat, October 1-6
For the third year in a row, Tai Chi Ireland has brought students to train in the balmy climate of Adeje, under the Peruvian pepper trees and jacarandas of the Gar. They enjoyed themselves a lot, unwound, learned some better postural alignments and how to relax by breathing. No complaints were aired, accommodation and lunch were greeted with satisfaction. Urara once again delivered with her trademark professionalism and unflappable demeanour. I will be back to teach again, and hopefully my students will return too.

Holy Muddy Ceramic Workshop
Since August, the Holy Muddy Ceramic Workshop at Dzamling Gar –initiated by Gisela Martinez with the support of the Dzamling Gakyil and the warm welcome of the Community– has been offering ceramic sessions for beginners and anyone interested in working with clay, slips, glazes, and different firing techniques.
The workshop has already become a much-awaited Saturday gathering! A regular group of 9 participants meets weekly, with around 13 more joining occasional sessions each month. The atmosphere is lively, everyone focused on their own pieces at their own rhythm. From pots and kitchenware to sculptures, masks, slip-painting, and glazing, there’s always something new being created. “The kiln is on fire every week!”
Open to community members, families, and friends (kids and adults together), the workshop has become a special place to practice presence in a tangible way. Working with clay connects us with the earth, and after 3 hours of creating, even silence starts to settle in. People feel relaxed, and often want to stay longer. We’ve even stretched a few sessions out to 4 hours because no one wanted to leave!
A recent and beautiful surprise: we received a spontaneous offering from a local Canarian ceramist who wants to come and share her knowledge once in a while. This shows how the workshop is not only about creation, but also about connection, helping us bond with the island and its people, and root even more deeply in this beautiful place, not only for us but also for Dzamling Gar.
The Holy Muddy Workshop warmly welcomes anyone, with or without experience, to join us every Saturday from 16:00 to 19:00.
We hope this project inspires others to offer and share their skills with the community, and that the space will soon host other arts too, like painting, jewelry, and more.

Deepening the Eight Movements and Teacher Training with Fabio Andrico
From 28 May to 6 June, 2025, Dzamling Gar hosted an in-depth Eight Movements Course with Teacher Training and Supervision led by our International Teacher Fabio Andrico. Fifteen participants attended in person, and over 60 joined online.
Fabio taught each movement with precision, emphasizing the breath as the driving force. Focusing on breath made movements effortless yet precise, gentle yet effective, while calming and clarifying the mind—a core aspect of Yantra Yoga. By the course’s end, everyone felt joyful, relaxed, and grateful.
Supervision began the next day, with candidates and participants benefiting from Fabio’s guidance, corrections, and humor. After four intensive days of practice, Tatiana Magdieva and Elena Sautkina were authorized as Eight Movements instructors. As Rinpoche reminds us, being part of the lineage brings the responsibility to teach “in a perfect way,” which we vow to uphold.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Rinpoche, Fabio, Laura, and all instructors for sharing Yantra Yoga worldwide. May more people connect with and practice this method in the future!

Song of the Vajra: Semdzin and the Vajra Dance with Arnaud Coquillard & Ludmila Kislichenko
by Urara Taoka
For six days we sang and danced the Song of the Vajra—how fortunate we were to join this retreat!
Each morning began with guru yoga and the Song of the Vajra, followed by a scent-based clarity practice inspired by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu’s 2012 Namgyalgar teaching. We relaxed with smell, observing sensations and memories without judgment. As an aromatherapist, this was challenging at first, but by the third day, I began to truly experience it.
Technical issues with Rinpoche’s recording extended our practice time, deepening the retreat’s intensity while keeping it light and open. Some joined only part-time, yet everyone participated fully within their means.
Arnaud’s “guides” led us directly into experience rather than theory. We sang at different tempos, explored meanings, and danced each section, observing how sound resonated within. His warmth united the group beautifully.
Luda’s steady compassion made the practice accessible even for those who couldn’t dance, encouraging subtle movement and presence.
We used our own voices instead of recordings—an invigorating return to sound as living practice. Each evening I swam, watched the sunset, and slept deeply, renewed.
Initially planning a solo retreat, I joined the group instead and discovered how collective practice reveals what solitary practice cannot. The empowered natural perfume we received will forever recall this shared experience.
Heartfelt thanks to Arnaud, Luda, and the families who danced with us!

Kunye Massage & External Therapies Program — Completion of Another Cycle
On March 30, we completed another cycle of our Kunye Massage & External Therapies 3-Level Educational Program at the beautiful Dzamling Gar. Students gained hands-on experience in Tibetan therapeutic practices under the guidance of Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo, Irina Pankevich, and Medegma Budaeva.
In Level 2, participants refined their Kunye massage techniques, worked with specific points, and focused on joint mobilization. Level 3 introduced Tibetan external therapies, including hot stones, cupping, medicinal oils, compresses, and mild moxibustion.
The diploma ceremony was graced by Rosa Namkhai, who honored the students’ dedication and shared a special gift, reminding us of the deep value of ancestral Tibetan wisdom.
We sincerely thank all the students for their trust and dedication, as well as the Dzamling Gar team for their support and hospitality. Special gratitude goes to Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo for her inspiring leadership and knowledge.
Our next Educational Program begins on October 4, 2025.

Passing of Vajra Brother Igor Pushkarev
Our dear Vajra Brother Igor Pushkarev passed away, taking his last breath with the sound of A, followed by the Song of Vajra sung by his Vajra Family on July 19th, 2025, at 13:25 at Hospital Sur, Tenerife. Many people know Igor and his beloved dog and companion Luna, who has moved to the north of the island to live with friends.
Interview with Urara – The Wellbeing Retreat Project at Dzamling Gar

Project Beginnings
We started planning this project in 2020 during the COVID lockdown, aiming to open Dzamling Gar and find sustainable ways to fund it. With guidance from consultants and the support of our talented local instructors, the project gradually took shape. Marketing took time to gain traction, but since last year, interest has grown steadily.
Programs and Practices
Guests can choose from programs rooted in the Dzogchen Community, including Yantra Yoga, Respira, Vajra Dance, meditation, and joyful dance sessions. Yantra Yoga, Respira, and meditation are popular, while Vajra Dance attracts guests seeking a unique experience. Tenerife offers few authentic meditation retreats, making our offerings especially appealing.
For Newcomers and Experienced Practitioners
Originally aimed at newcomers, the retreats also attract experienced community members seeking to deepen their practice. Customized retreats include private sessions tailored to individual needs, such as physical limitations or specific interests.
Guest Feedback
Guests appreciate the beauty of Zamling Gar, the welcoming atmosphere, and the relaxed pace. Programs are intentionally small to allow space for reflection and enjoyment of Tenerife’s natural surroundings.
Booking and Accessibility
We use BookRetreats.com to simplify bookings and reach newcomers. Many first-time visitors later receive transmission from Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche’s successor, creating meaningful connections.
Personalized Experience
Guests complete a registration form detailing their interests. We then create personalized one-week programs, matching them with appropriate instructors and including optional massage therapies. Retreat schedules are flexible, balancing structured sessions with free time for relaxation or sightseeing.
About Me
I’m originally from Japan and moved to Tenerife. With over 20 years as a massage therapist, I’ve worked extensively in wellness and volunteer outreach, supporting communities in Japan and Cambodia. I co-founded a therapy organization and consulted for hotel wellness programs. Joining the Wellness Being Project at Zamling Gar felt natural, allowing me to contribute to meaningful, collaborative healing work.
A Week of Collaboration: IT and Sound Teams Unite at Dzamling Gar

From October 13–19, 2025, IT teams from Merigar West and Dzamling Gar gathered at Dzamling Gar, joined by Austrian sound engineer Philip, for a week of collaboration. What began as a training session on sound equipment evolved into hands-on preparation for the 2026 retreat.
The team focused on refining the Gönpa’s sound system for clear, balanced audio, setting up a stage monitor for instructors, and constructing a mobile wall to reduce sound reflections. With Philip’s guidance, they created a quadriphonic sound space and adjusted the system to ensure voices could be heard clearly throughout the Gönpa, even before full acoustic treatment.
Work included defining the area, positioning speakers, running cables, testing microphones, and applying equalization. The team also designed setups for translators and shared progress with Yeshi for feedback.
Beyond technical tasks, the week fostered collaboration and friendship. Gloriana Brenes cooked daily, and the group shared moments of learning, laughter, and teamwork.
The project is about more than technology—it enhances our Community experience. To complete it, we need approximately €42,000 to finish improvements and maintain clear sound for all future events, especially Namkhai Yeshi’s February 2026 retreat. Every contribution helps strengthen our Community.
