Student of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu since 1980, I have been artistically inspired and guided by my maternal aunt since childhood, an accomplished painter and art teacher. She lived in the same house as me, where she had her painting studio-laboratory. I loved spending my days there, enchanted by that magical atmosphere and her creative originality.

Since then, I have always continued to challenge myself in the multifaceted world of artistic creation, experimenting with many different forms.

After a long pause due to full-time teaching commitments, I have finally been able to pick up paper and colors again. Almost as a challenge and out of curiosity towards myself, I wanted to try hyper-realistic portraiture, created with professional colored pencils (with light and weather-resistant pigments).

Inspired by photographic images of the multifaceted transformations of our beloved and precious teacher Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, and set in the perfect frame of Dzamling Gar, I started dedicating myself to drawing and portraying him.

Almost without realizing it, I ended up collecting a true series of portraits, each of which captures a facet, an aspect, an expression, a moment in time.

With this series of portraits I wish to honour Rinpoche’s memory, always present in all of us.
